Polyurea Coatings Are Developed Primarily For Industrial and Outdoor Applications, With Some Automotive Applications Also Featuring Polyurethanes

Image
Polyurea Coatings are polyurethane foam rubber that serve as an alternative to synthetic rubber, particularly for military applications. Polyurea resists cracking, breaking and stretching, even under high stress and temperatures and have excellent chemical resistance. It is stronger and more flexible compared to epoxy. It is very durable and long-lasting and can last up to 10 years. Polyurea Coatings are developed primarily for industrial and outdoor applications, with some automotive applications also featuring polyurethanes. The coatings are highly elastic and accommodate expansion, contraction and relative movement within concrete without cracking. The most common polyurea coatings applications are corrosion and abrasion protection of pipelines providing abrasion protection in mining and construction equipment. It is applied as a base coating to prevent cathodic disbanding and to improve pump output. Polyurea products are typically applied to smooth and flat surfaces with t...
